French Drain Solutions in Sydney A Simple System That Solves a Lot of Water Problems

French drains are one of the most effective and versatile drainage solutions available for residential and commercial properties. When water is pooling, groundwater is building or soil is staying saturated, a properly installed French drain system redirects it quietly and efficiently before it causes damage.
At Aqua Solutions, we design and install French drain systems for properties across Sydney and New South Wales.

What Is a French Drain?

Subsoil drainage is a system designed to intercept and redirect excess groundwater and soil moisture away from structures, foundations and landscaped areas before it causes damage.
When soil becomes saturated and water has nowhere to go, the consequences build quickly:

Unlike a standard pit drain that collects water in one spot, a French drain works across a length of ground, capturing water along its entire run and channelling it away through gravity. The system can be completely concealed beneath turf or mulch, leaving no visible trace in your yard.

What French Drains Solve

How We Install It

Every French drain we install is designed around your specific site conditions, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our process:

Site visit to assess soil type, slope, groundwater behaviour and drainage paths

Trench excavated to the appropriate depth and grade

Permeable geotextile fabric lined through the trench

Gravel bed laid and perforated pipe positioned at the correct fall

System wrapped and finished with fabric, turf or mulch as required

Outlet connected to stormwater or appropriate discharge point

The result is a hidden, low-maintenance system that handles water below the surface where the problem actually starts.
